Just another day in paradise....!!!
today's issue is shocking for the ignorant readers, these crimes happen in your house under your nose with ur aproval....!!!
each house has a family... each family has properties such as cars, freezers, tv's, and "maids"....!!!
maids are concedered as property rather than human biengs in the middle east....!!!
and since i am of these lands, i will discuss and show u what maids in kuwait suffer from, hopping other nationalities like the saudies or other gulf oil countries have to say in this matter.....!!!
slavery is back ..... with a dildo in her hands...!!!
imagine ur self as poorly educated, financialy chalenged, with no mony to support ur family, the only choice for that is to be a woman, prfered young, and willing to serve some rich family in a rich country where the diffrence in exchanging that rich countries currency to yours would chase around 1:300 or 1:1000 ...
soo what do u do......?!?!?!
stay home...?!?!?!
or suffer for 2 or 3 years there to come back ... a family waits for u... a happy family, with a decent home and store with a respectable income, and most important for that matter... all ur depts will be gone.....!!!
so u go ask some one who knows and charges u with a huge amount in order to find a way for u to go there.....!!!
after u sell every thing (that means ur house, brothers house, ur jowellery, force ur children to work over time since they are working and droped out of school, ... etc) and manage to get all the papers needed and give this some one his share of the cake, u finally go to this heaven....
u do not nottice the hostile treatment of the airport staff, ..........
the end of part one...

All over the world people want to have servants or domestic help. People who are well off in the West have servants ranging from maids, butlers, chauffeurs, gardeners etc.. Others who can't afford that kind of luxury arrange for help in the form of babysitters, housekeepers, whatever you want to call it. What I am saying is it is not just us who employ servants.
Yes, many people in our country may abuse their maids but one cannot generalize. Otherwise why would we have such an enormous number of people from the Philippines, Srilanka, India, Indonesia, and Bangladesh coming back year after year?
Why do we only hear about the negative abuse stories? What about those families that treat their servants well? You never hear about them.
Yes, those who want to come to work overseas sell all they own but they do it because if they get lucky here they will be removed from abject poverty.
In our family our servants have built new homes, and not one but several businesses that will be thriving upon their return to their country. All as a result of their work in Kuwait.
It is a risk they have to take and humans have been taking risks throughout history trying to better their positions in life.
That being said in defense of Kuwaitis, I would just like to advise those who abuse their servants that "kama tu deen tu dan" meaning that it will all come back to you in one form or another. And one day, it just might be Kuwaitis who are on the other side. So "Be good..."

dear "Mink"...
its true there are servants All over the world ....!!!and it's also true people want to have servants or domestic help....!!!
thats why there is laws and regulations that control the work of labours....!!!
"People who are well off in the West and have servants ranging from maids, butlers, chauffeurs, gardeners etc.. Others who can't afford that kind of luxury arrange for help in the form of babysitters, housekeepers"....
for starters...
they employ profesionals for the jobs wither they are butlers, maids, or an experienced such as babysitters
for salaries uncomparable to the salaries we give in the mid. east....!!!
they have their own working hours not more than 9 hours any addition to that would be a salary bonus....
speaking of salaries...
in kuwait it is fixed at 40 KD and might be 60 or 70 but thats it.....!!!
so what about other countries how much do they charge in the UK or US....?!?!
do they bring "a maid" to : cook, clean, wash cloth, ironing them, babysit, raise the children, wash the cars, masage your back, and things unimaginable like being the sex doll to a 16 yr old teenager.....!!!
do the maid in kuwait have legal rights...?!?!
do they work certin hours a day or they are 24-7 maids with exceptional "visiting hour" to the church once a month...!!!
do they eat the same food as we eat...!!!
or why do we give them "tamween rice" and we take a more expensive kind....!!!
do they eat shrimp, fish (meed is not included), the list goes on.....!!!
"Yes, many people in our country may abuse their maids but one cannot generalize. Otherwise why would we have such an enormous number of people from the Philippines, Srilanka, India, Indonesia, and Bangladesh coming back year after year?"
i also agree but, abuse is not only physical...
it's mental, verbal, and immotional forms of abuse....!!!
and they come to kuwait seeking salvation to their families knowing what waits them in kuwait, dosnt mean the abuse is ecceptional or scarce.....!!!
it just say that they are forced to come here despite knowing the abuse they r going to recieve....!!!
(this shows how desperate they are)
"Why do we only hear about the negative abuse stories? What about those families that treat their servants well? You never hear about them."
see the news papers and u'll find the answer....!!!
each day u hear these stories....
" a maid pissis on the drinking water", "tries to poisen the children", "philipino stabs 3 kids in the throut killing 2 the commits suicide", "indian maid kills the wife and kill herself", and soo many repeated suicides to escape the inhuman treat....!!!
what forced them to kill (themselfs or others)....!!!
did u hear about families treating their servants the right way....!!!
i personaly know two friend that dont abuse their maids...!!!
one of them is half british so the mother dont have the new kuwaiti mode of house organisation, the other simply dont have maids to begin with.....!!!
indeed we can not generalise.... we can not generalise the good treatment of labourers in kuwait....!!!
in the end i would love to ask u 2 quistions of which humbly hope ud answer them....
-how do you and ur family treat maids inside ur house....?!?!
-if u have young sisters and/or brothers... how do they call the maid(s)....?!?!?!

Ma sima3t il mathal il kuwaiti shegool?
يا خادم الخدم أبشر بالندم
i.e. some Kuwaiti families here in Kuwait used to be servants to prominant Kuwaiti families in the pre-oil era and the pre-Asian labor era. These families that used to be servant families now have servants to serve them (hence the mathal above) I'm not saying all of them do that but most of them do abuse servants (u would think the opposite no?). No offence intented to anyone just stating a fact.
oh and u mentioned bonuses, we do give bonuses few examples; eids, weddings (and God knows how many we have of those), we help them when they have sick family members back home (heck we even pay the airplane ticket to go visit their sick ones), and the bonuses are still payed when they retire and go back home they have a monthly salary that is sent to them without working (mind u there's no law that says we have to do that....but many people I know do that), every celebration imaginable has a bonus, and the list goes on...
Oh...and don't compare the salary in the west to here because in the west they charge taxes and the standard of living is higher than in Asian countries. So in my opinion, here they get paid more, COMPARATIVELY speaking...As the commentator before me said enough to build houses and I'd like to add to that some even build a whole apartment building with the money they make here in Kuwait.
With that said, I do agree with you that they need someone to protect their rights because our religion is always with the underdog and so must we. People should be treated like u want to be treated yourself.
Peace

This is a true story:
We sometimes send our maid to the “baqala” near our house to get stuff. One day she went out and came bk crying and limping!! She said 3 teenage boys attacked and hit her!! my 2 brothers ( the older one was so enraged! I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so angry, he’s usually so gentle!) they took her immediately out to find the boys. They tracked them down to the jam3iya were they found one of them and pulled him off to the makhfar. And guess what, two of the boys were from Saudia Arabia.
Meanwhile me and my sister where sitting in the garden fully dressed waiting for them to come bk so we can take her to the doc. When she later came she said it’s okay she feels fine .. and the sweet thing had apparently forgiven the boys after their parents were brought in and they wrote a ta3ahod. I told her to go to bed and to not let me see her out of bed the whole of tomorrow.
So you see, it’s not the nationality. These boys are from the same country you were hoping would have a say in the matter. I repeat, it’s not the nationality. It’s your own upbringing and how well your parents taught you to respect others no matter how low you might think of their occupations.
Our other maid has been in our service for almost 10 years now, she even met her husband while working for us. An Egyptian worker who asked for her hand from my own father :)
I repeat. It’s not the nationality.

i know i'm late but the issue deserves it...
dear anon. No.1 ....
yes i heard it before although my interpritation to it is some what different...
to add on the 1st paragraph...
some kuwaiti families (the majority that used labourup till the 1970's) had thier servants (صبي)from oman, somalia, etheupia, or from egypt...
so the no. of kuwaiti servents were ecceptionaly lower than what u think...
about the bonuses...
a fact is, few kuwaiti families give the bonuses as result of hard work or as over time salary...
these bonuses are given because of the spirit of the occasion (Eid, holy month, ...etc.) and u see it clearly in Eid elfe6r or ath7a in the streets when hundreds of bangaly workers gather as a flock in the streets pretinding to work harder and harder (depending on the car)....?!?!
if u want to compare we have to state the fact that few hours of laboure(specific type of work)as higher income to the servants in the west, where 24/7 of torture and doing every thing and 40-60 K.D. a month...!!!
dear Peach...
uv hit the bull's eye...
"It’s your own upbringing and how well your parents taught you to respect others no matter how low you might think of their occupations"
I'm 100% with u...
but here is the thing....
the fathering generation of the men & women of tomorow were raised to not identify the entity of personalities and refer to them (servants) as objects or as a furniture of the house...
u notice when the child refers to the maid as (خدامة) and not by her name...
my dear "Chigirlia" sorry for the disappearance but الجامعة و بلاويها…!!!
dear anon. No. 2 or 1 i cant figure out...
the same reply to chigirlia applys here....
thanks for sharing ur thoughts....
